At Edenhurst, we always start with ‘Why?’ as described by Simon Sinek. Our ‘Why?’ is always about children and what is in their best interests. A Growth Mindset is possibly the most important tool we can provide our children with in their preparation for life.
Too often adults impose limits on children and at Edenhurst we believe that this is wrong. The potential of children is unlimited and they should be taught that. But there should always be a healthy dose of reality. Learning from failure and the importance of hard work should always be stressed.
This is part of the language at our school. It is hugely powerful to hear children talk about resilience with a real understanding of what that means, and why it is important. Growth Mindset is not a short-term project and needs to inform what we do as a school and be part of our DNA. Edenhurst is a school that believes in the potential of children and provides them with the tools they need to succeed.
