On our trip to the National Space Centre in Leicester, Prep 5 had the opportunity to take part in a workshop called ‘It IS Rocket Science’ where there were live demonstrations of the chemical reactions needed to launch rockets and a quiz on the history of space travel. Pupils also explored the different levels of the Rocket Tower with interactive activities including designing rockets and simulating a launch in a shuttle. They also explored the four different galleries, gathering facts about the planets, constellations and previous space explorations and visited the Planetarium to watch a show on astronaut training.
