Pupil Blog: Our Memorable Wimbledon Visit

Posted: 9th July 2024

I woke up at 6.30am, got ready and headed to Stoke train station. I met up with some of my classmates and we were on the train making our way to another station.

The journey was about 2 hours then we hopped on a couple of trains (which was about 30 mins) and made our way to Wimbledon. It was a 10 minute walk and we were there.

We went to the Wimbledon shop and we got tennis balls, hats, bags, pens and sweatbands.

Our first match was against a French tennis player called Clara Burel and a Great British player called Sonay Kartal. It was a great match and the winner was Kartal.

As soon as that happened we rushed outside and got Sonay’s autograph. We were all so happy.

Then we watched half of Tommy Paul vs Otto Virtanen. We could only watch half as we had to rush off but on the way we got a few more signatures and had a glance of Carlos Alcaraz who is number 3 in the whole entire world.

That was the end of our brilliant day.
